40,000 square meters of new open public spaces were inagaurated for 2024, and 15 new greening projects were set to be launched in 2025, backed by a €22 million investment. Minister Miriam Dalli announced new gardens in Kalkara, Marsa, Birżebbuġa, and Wied Inċita, as part of the broader €350 million Project Green, which includes 118 environmental projects. Additionally, old sites like the San Antnin recycling plant in Marsaskala are being transformed into public gardens. Parliamentary Secretary Omar Farrugia said these spaces will serve as community hubs, with the University of Malta helping ensure they are inclusive and accessible for all.
