The Public Works Department is responsible for projects that vary from the planning and implementation of large-scale initiatives (such as the Malta National Park) to small-scale projects and routine maintenance works in all localities. This Department works every day to ensure a better quality of life among our communities.

The history of the Public Works Department dates to the first half of the nineteenth century, but the goals remain the same: to carry out works to improve the environment for the public’s well-being.
