Ta' Qali National Park Adventure Park

The Adventure Park in Ta’ Qali forms part of the Malta National Park. It is located on an ex-military aircraft runway and covers an area of 14,000 square meters.

The Park is aimed for all families to enjoy, especially children, including those with special needs. It provides games and activities for children aged over 1 year, including teenagers. One can also find educational equipment that facilitates the understanding of mathematical and scientific principles.

The playing areas are complemented with seating and relaxing facilities, including a cafeteria. The Park is beautifully landscaped, with new trees and shrubs planted, while natural turf and a new irrigation system were also laid.

The Adventure Park is generating alternative and renewable energy, both from solar and wind power. All the electrical energy used in the park is generated by a solar panel system on top of the cafeteria and three integrated PV panel systems (BIPVs) on adjacent buildings. A wind tree that generates electricity has also been installed. Altogether, these systems will produce enough energy to cater for all the Adventure Park installations.

The fountains and water features have been modernised and all the outdoor furniture has been renovated.

A new CCTV system has been installed, covering the entire park to ensure maximum security for all, as well as prevent vandalism. A WIFI system has also been installed for public use throughout the park.

A fountain was also built in the wide part of the sidewalk next to the parvis to serve as a reminder of an ancient water source that was in the same place, as seen in old photographs, but which had been removed in the middle of the last century. Other work carried out included the replacement of the ramp tiles that go down to the public latrine, the passage of new underground services, the installation of new lights to illuminate the Museum of the Parish’s facade, new benches, the construction of a small room under the parapet to house the fountain pumps, and the replacement of service boxes and holes for the feast poles.
